Our Girls
This page is undergoing a bit of a transition as I have girls that have been retired and young females that I need to put up here. Unfortunately some of these girls have not been shown and may not. Sadly in 2020 my husband was diagnosed as terminally ill right when Covid hit. We were extremely cautious in keeping him safe, which also meant that several of my dogs didn't go to the very few shows that were available to us. I am working on this now that I have time to refocus on training and shows are opening up. The girls are OFA tested and just for the heck of it I have Embark tested as well. Embark does not replace hands on testing by veterinary specialists but it does tell me that my poms are free of the 250 things they could never produce and the handful of things a pom can get.
I am working on a page dedicated to my past poms. All of these generations have built a strong foundation of Firesprite poms. Almost all of my girls are Champions, all are sound, happy, outgoing and a wonderful representation of the breed. I am proud to share the pedigrees of all my dogs, you can click the link and it is easy to research almost every dog that is behind what I have produced.

Carly is such a wonderful, happy go lucky girls and I hope that she has as much of an impact on my breeding program as her lovely mum did.
I missed showing Carly as a youngster due to Covid but I am so happy once I could get her out to classes and focus on her she caught on rather quickly.
Carly finished her championship in style and has her Champion defeat/major for her Grand by winning BOB 3 x in one weekend.
She is Embark tested and OFA Heart -Eyes Normal.

Toga is a girl so full of life and happiness, there isn't anything or anyone she doesn't love. She is another girl that didn't see the show ring as a youngster due to Covid.
OFA Heart and Eyes normal
Embark tested just for the fun of it and naturally she doesn't have the 250 things Poms can get, or the small handful of things a pom can.
Waiting on OFA patellas when we can find a vet to do it. Covid has made it difficult.

Firesprite Great Expectations
I can not even tell you how shocked I was when this girl was born with parti markings. Where we all assumed this would be a lovely solid red- orange litter I ended up with a red male and this little lovely. This brought on a flurry of DNA testing only to discover this gene has been hiding in my pedigrees for over 6 generations. So Leyla (mom to this girl) carries 1 copy of the gene, Rooster, her sire does not carry the gene. Her brother does NOT have the gene.
Historically in Canada Parti marked poms do not do well in the ring, especially on that does not carry enough white but we will see if perhaps we will get brave enough to show her. If she was a solid color it would be a no brainer, she IS stunning!! All preliminary health tests have been perfect, waiting for the right age and appropriate clinics to make everything formal

Firesprite's Super Nova
I just love love love this little spitfire. She came out screaming and has that look at me attitude just like her stunning sire. NV finished right after her 6 month birthday in style.. Winning BOB over Top ranked Specials and going on to win a group 3rd.
I am having a real mental block moving this girl from my page, she is retired but has been such a tremendous asset to my program.
